V1
The arts have faced unprecedented challenges over the two years and the Broadway Gallery was, sadly, no exception. It’s not hyperbole to say that the gallery probably would exist if it wasn’t for the creative community of Letchworth stepping in to offer their time and skills, for free, in order to allow us to reopen after the lockdown. The vast majority of our volunteers are practicing artists so, as a small gesture of gratitude, we are pleased to announce V1, the first annual exhibition showing the work of those who have supported the gallery so generously over the previous year.
V1 features the conceptual photography of artists Benjamin Bird, Liz Harrigton and Leah Carvell, the textile-based work of Elizabeth Hancock, site-specific painting installation by Ella Luben, illustrative prints by Kiera Chojecki and evocative, experimental painting by Mollie Mclellan and Marian Hall.
There is one of our volunteers, however, that isn’t a practicing artist. Evgenia Klenysheva has been with us since July and has used her considerable skills in event management to become the curator of the V1 exhibition.
Please come by for the private view of V1 from 7pm, November 25th to show your support for this great team who have not only helped keep us going through these difficult times but have allowed us to come back even stronger.
