Why we need your support
The COVID-19 pandemic has gravely affected art galleries and cultural venues around the UK, and Broadway Gallery is no exception. Last July we faced permanent closure due to the significant financial losses sustained by Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation, which funds all our work. This means we can no longer solely rely on the Foundation to cover all our costs.
We are now seeking external funding, charitable grants and donations to help us maintain our gallery programme. This will help us continue to nurture emerging talent and support cultural development in our region.
What we do
We bring high quality international artists to Hertfordshire, while supporting and exhibiting creative talent from Letchworth, our region and beyond. We are rooted in our community and use Letchworth’s green open spaces, empty shops, streets and other cultural venues to bring a range of art forms to people of all ages and backgrounds.
Exhibitions such as the Letchworth Open showcases the artistic talent of the region and encourages aspiring artists. We are also proud to play our part in driving forward the Letchworth Culture Project, which enables community-led exhibitions and events to take place in empty retail units in the town. With restrictions easing, we now want to take this project forward to transform the town’s empty spaces into creative hubs where artists and makers can thrive, and our community can be part of this emerging scene.
Where your money will go
We are a small team supported by a group of dedicated volunteers, so you can be assured that 100% of your donation will be spent on:
£3 will help us buy art materials for our free children’s workshops.
£5 will help subsidise the cost of talks, workshops and art classes.
£10 will help support our residency programme and provide opportunities to artists from our region.
£20 will help support the cost of our free exhibition programme and enriching the lives of our local community.
