The Broadway Plinth is a new element to the gallery, a permanent fixture that will highlight single and small groupings of work by contemporary sculptors.
Benjamin Cohen is an artist living and working in London and Athens, Greece. He studied Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art and Design (2005-6), Loughborough University School of Art and Design (2006-9) and Central Saint Martins (2012-14). Through experimentation with expanded notions of painting, sculpture, film and time-based media, and collaborative projects involving an array of different materials and processes, Benjamin Cohen’s practice investigates the relationship between, and the possibilities of, image-making, ‘the screen’ and display, as well as issues of exchange and temporality in contemporary life.
Recent exhibitions include New Relics (2018) at Thames Side Studios, London; Thoughts of Terminal Refreshment and Promise of Palm Trees (2015) at Breese Little Gallery, London. As part of Athens Biennale 2016, he participated in Space Revolution, an arts-educational lecture that investigated emerging artist-run spaces in Greece.
