On the 19th of May 2023 the North Herts. African and Caribbean Community group had the pleasure of working with Katie Hasler and the team, at the Hitchin Town Hall, as they delivered a tribute concert to mark 50 Years since Bob Marley & the Wailers played at the venue.
As an organisation NHACC was there to record the stories of those from the African and Caribbean community who promoted, DJed and attended the original event, as well as those who lived in Hitchin and North Herts at the time.
Now we are blessed to share the short film of how their brief visit was a cause pride and celebration and to be here to commemorate the biopic of Bob Marley’s life and achievements.
The film was captured, directed and produced by Craig Maret assisted by Gemma Maret both of The Rewind Project Ltd. We want to give a BIG thanks to them. Photography of the event and set by Soji “SJay” Akinjomo of Crown Revival Photography. Hair, makeup and styling by Sharon “Ciirū” Wanjiru at Spoken Roots Hair.
We have continued to celebrate African and African Caribbean heritage and culture, and our history here in North Hertfordshire. We work with Sandra, Erna, Grace and the members of the Letchworth Caribbean Harmony Group and have produced the “Forging a Family” exhibition proudly exhibited in the Letchworth Museum at ONE Garden City.
