Frequently Asked Questions
What film can I watch during my private hire?
You might already have an idea of what film you would like – we ask that you give us your top three choices in order of preference to avoid disappointment, as not all films are available to us through our programming. As part of our licence, we enforce BBFC Age Ratings, therefore all members of the audience must be old enough to watch the film. Staff may ask for photo ID before admitting the party to the film, and reserve the right to deny entry.
I want to screen a film I have made, is this possible?
Absolutely! As a small independent cinema, we are a champion of independent talent. As a licenced venue, your film must have a rating from the BBFC or a temporary licence from the local council before we are able to screen it.
Can I view the space before hiring?
Yes, we would love to show you the space to help you decide whether we are right for your event. Please contact us via broadway@letchworth.com to arrange a visit at a time when the screen is not in use.
Can we do a tech run of the event?
We are happy to accommodate a technical run through of the event where possible. However, due to the operational hours of the cinema, this may not always be possible.
We charge £50 per hour for use of our technician’s time and equipment.
Can you provide an onscreen message for my event?
Absolutely! Onscreen welcome message text or video prices start from £25.
Can I bring in my own food and drink?
We ask that you do not bring your own food and drink to Broadway Cinema and Theatre during your private hire. We have a full bar and range of concessions (price list available on request) If you wish to have your hire catered, we have companies that we would happily recommend.
Due to licencing laws, no external alcohol can be brought onto our site. Alcohol must only be purchased from our bar and cannot be taken outside at any point during your hire.
